Transparency: This carries over from my time in journalism, but I think it's important in many realms, both personal and professional. I struggle to embody this value, so I end up reminding myself of it a lot.


Compassion: Ultimately what makes us human is our ability to empathize and care about other people. It's easy to extend compassion to people you know, or people who are like you. But compassion toward strangers, those who are different, or who we fear, is the real difference maker.


Action: Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Beg forgiveness, don't ask permission. Don't just talk about it, make sh*t happen!
